A while back I came across this picture from tumblr and ever since I've been obsessed with matte black nails. I managed to squeeze in a sneaky bit of sale hunting and, naturally, found myself drifting towards the only place that didn't have a sale, Chanel. It was there that after months and months I finally found what I was searching for.
Meet beauté des ongles, the beautiful mat top coat from my dreams.
Craving matte black nails as I was, I decided to pair it with my tried and tested Chanel black satin nail colour. All you have to do is paint it over your nails as you would a top coat and voila. Please excuse my horrifically rush job nails, I was too excited to hold a brush still, but honestly I'm in love with how easy this is to apply and how dramatic the effect is. Although I warn you, the matte effect may fool you into believing that your nails are dry when they're not, I'd wait an extra few minutes before you start doing anything.

Although you can get individual matte shades, I really like the idea of a top coat because really there are endless possibilities of what you can do with this little baby. What do you think, are glossy nails too glamorous to deny or are you ready for a matte attack?
I'ved used the Rimmel matte top coat for about a year now, I just prefer matte nails and that one has always worked really well for me. I always look at the Chanel nail varnishes but I can never justify the price. I'm just a sucker for a bargin lol.
