Those of you who follow my Instagram and/or Twitter would have seen how much the Criterion Theater enjoyed having me on stage over the weekend's performance of Close To You : Bacharach Reminagined. No! Sadly, I am not now staring in the breathtaking musical after becoming an overnight musical theater sensation, but I did get the chance to enjoy the whole performance on stage, and you can too

As part of the shows unique 'jam session' vibe, the theater offer 22 seats on purchase, from which you can enjoy the whole performance from the stage. The whole experience was extraordinarily, making you feel like the ultimate VIP. You meet a theater representative at the bar and are taken to your onstage seats. Which are not just seats, but plush cosy sofas to sink in to. You then get to sing, dance, clap along with the performers as they celebrate the talents of Burt Bacharach, and his diverse songbook, a mere arms length away from where you're seated! As this blog aims to be about sharing unique and interesting things to do in London, and not theater reviews, I won't go into depth of the show. Suffice to say, the performers are incredibly talented, each performance is captivating and the whole process is really laid back (which is a compliment!), you're not forced to take part at all if you just want to sit back, relax and watch the show. But I can almost guaranteed that you will be at least tapping a foot along while you rediscover the Bacharach songs you have unknowingly loved over the years.

I can't tell you how many people I ran into after the show that asked me if I was part of the chorus, and then when I told them the truth, just how on earth I managed to get the tickets, and I couldn't believe it wasn't common knowledge that they were available. If you've always dreamed of appearing on stage, at a top London theater, in front of a huge crowd, surrounded by a brilliant cast but things just haven't worked out that way... this is your chance! Grab it while you can!
