Most people buy their Dad's slippers and roast dinner for father's day... Me? I took my dad to make narcotics. Anybody who has access to a TV / the internet / the outside world will probably have been hooked by the phenomenon that is Breaking Bad. My Dad was so obsessed that he slept on the sofa for a month just so he wouldn't wake my Mum up watching it into the early hours of the morning! So, when I heard that a Breaking Bad inspired pop up bar was opening in London I dragged him down there for a little father's day treat.

ABQ London found a replica of Walter White's infamous RV, and kitted it out with test tubes, dry ice and alcohol, so that you and 20 of your new closest friends can spend 2 hours getting your chemistry on, Heisenberg style.

Instructions are displayed on the walls, and you work in teams, stirring, mixing and whirring in the lab, to create 2 weird and wonderful cocktails. While I wouldn't call either concoction the most amazing thing I've ever tasted, they definitely packed a punch and it was so much fun being able to don a pair of rubber gloves, tinker with chemistry equipment and laugh like a mad scientist.

The 'cooks' overseeing the whole process were really helpful (ours even had a killer Jesse accent) and while it was a little awkward and squishy inside, it was easy to bond over the shared interest of the show. Once you were done cooking, you can chill outside of the RV where there's a bar, ping pong table and 'Los Pollos' chicken being served. Though it ended in 2013, I still haven't got round to actually finishing Breaking Bad yet, being able to kind of live it out definitely bought back my nostalgia for it so I have been catching up.

As far as I know the pop up was only available for 3 months and is all sold out BUT judging from its success and sheer brilliance I hope that it's stay continues. Oh, and my Dad loved it!
